Juvenile Crime Prevention Council

Purpose


The purpose of the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council is to review the needs of the juvenile population in the county who are at risk of delinquency or who have been adjudicated undisciplined or delinquent, to ensure that appropriate intermediate dispositional options are available, and to make recommendations to the board of commissioners on the level of state funding to be awarded to local delinquency prevention programs.

Iredell County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council Request for Proposals

The Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) has studied the risk factors and needs of Juvenile Court involved youth in this county and hereby publishes this Request for Proposals. The JCPC anticipates funds from the NC Dept. of Public Safety in the amount stated above to fund the program types specified below. Such programs will serve delinquent and at-risk youth for the state fiscal year 2020-2021 beginning on, or after, July 1, 2020. The use of these funds in this county requires a local match in the amount of $56,370.

Meeting Schedule (All Meetings Are Open to the Public)
Due to COVID-19 and the Governor's Executive Order, the JCPC meetings that were scheduled for Tuesday, June 9,2020 and July 14, 2020 have been canceled.  At this time, the next meeting will be August 11, 2020.  

Monthly Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month and are held at the Iredell County Public Library, 201 North Tradd Street, Statesville, NC.  The meeting begins at 12:30 pm.

Special Meetings:
None at this time. 

JCPC Member Vacancies:
 
-A member of the faith community
-Person under the age of 18 years
-Person under the age of 18 years who is a member of the State Youth Council
