NOTICE OF CURRENT LIBRARY OPERATIONS

All Iredell County Public Library branches are currently offering limited services to the public, including materials for checkout, digital programming, and a new express checkout service.

[STATESVILLE, NC, May 20th] — In an effort to continue to serve residents of Iredell County to the best of our ability, the Iredell County Public Library continues to offer limited services while taking measures to ensure the health of staff and patrons. The library will be modifying their service delivery effective Monday, June 1st. During this period, patrons will be able to pick up holds or Express Books orders between 3-6 p.m. Monday – Friday. Express Books is a new service the library is offering where patrons can fill out a form with their reading interests, and staff will choose books for them.

The library is also quarantining all returned materials for 72 hours prior to handling or checking them in. No fines will be assessed on materials during this time. Additionally, each location is currently allowing one patron in the building at a time to allow adequate time for staff to sanitize checkout stations. In order to keep staff and patrons healthy, all library staff and users must wear a face mask before entering.

Iredell County Public Library (ICPL) will be accepting computer/WiFi appointments beginning June 1st for adults between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday – Friday. Access is available for job related issues, including filing for unemployment, searching for work, creating a resume, and filing taxes. Please call your preferred location to make an appointment.

Finally, the library’s Summer Reading Program begins June 1st. Patrons of all ages can collect a summer reading packet from any ICPL location when picking up holds or Express Book orders and follow along with digital programming on the library’s Facebook page, @iredelllibrary. The documents and activities in the packet will also be available for download on the library’s website.
